Slate is another type of material available. It is mostly use for flooring. It has a striking stone texture and earthy color tones, as well as varieties in color, pattern and surface profile made it even more suitable for flooring. Some of the slates available are black, gray, red, rust brown, blue, green, and purple.

Another great feature of slate is that it is extremely durable and only needs very little maintenance. It is great as a flooring tile because it can disguise dirt very well. The only things you need to do are sweep or vacuum it regularly. It has a smooth exterior and nice to touch as well.

It is available in several thicknesses, so it is up to you which thickness you prefer. The ¼-inch thickness is the most popular one. Not only that, it is available in different shapes and sizes, such as rectangular, square, octagonal, or however shape you want. In terms of size, you can choose from large flagstones to small inset tiles.

Slate is cheaper than marble and granite, yet the quality is still very high. So, if you want a good quality materials for your floor, slate is a good option and definitely worth your money.
