| News Release International Stone Institute Organizes Aid for Those in the Stone Industry Affected by Hurricane Katrina
Asheville, NC - When Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast states of Louisiana and Mississippi, many people where left homeless and many businesses were left in ruin. Those affected include workers in the stone industry.
The International Stone Institute (ISI) has had calls from several of its members who are interested in helping stone fabricators ravaged by the storm.
According to Fred Hueston, ISI director, "Several of our members are willing to provide temporary, and in some cases, permanent jobs for those who need them. One of our members is even willing to provide housing for any workers, as well as their family."
The ISI asks that any other fabricators, restoration contractors or others in the stone industry who are in the position to lend a hand to our brothers and sisters in the industry match this generous offer.
If you know someone who has been put of work by Hurricane Katrina, contact us and we will put them in touch with someone who may be able to provide work. If you can, please give Jonathan Gilbert a call at ISI offices at 828-252-4522. |
