After 30 years in business, W.D. Wells and Associates, Inc. remains a family owned Pennsylvania landscape design company committed to the ideals of customer service and personal attention. Founded in 1974, W.D. Wells and Associates is one of the last Design/Build PA landscaping contractors in the region that also operates their own nursery, Water Crest Farm.
William D. Wells began the landscape design company with a crew of three young men and two trucks. W.D. sold, designed and supervised all of the early work while his wife Kay, worked as a teacher to help provide for their young family while the fledging company grew.
They eventually bought their first nursery on Lenape-Unionville Road in Pocopson Township, which contained 14 acres, a greenhouse, plastic holding houses and a small truck barn. Their children, Bill H. and David Wells, were in high school and college while Tom Wells, W.D. and a few other workers ran the nursery and landscape department.
By 1989, the landscape design firm in PA was bursting at the seams. To encourage company growth, the firm moved to a new, 60-acre nursery in Penn Township.
In 1993, Bill Sr. stepped down from actively running the family business, which , which gave Bill H. and David the opportunity to continue the family tradition and manage daily operations. Bill H. is now the President/General Manager of landscape design services and David is now the Vice President/Nursery Operations. The move has provided many opportunities and enabled us to increase our office capacity and staff. Today, we have four experienced and dedicated designers to serve you.
In addition to our design/build landscape and nursery divisions, our Professional Garden Care division is available to help with ongoing garden maintenance.
