We are a Boulder based landscape design and maintenance company specializing in environmentally sustainable commercial and residential landscapes. Our mission is to create beautiful, livable environments that meet our client's aesthetic, functional, and economic goals while respecting the environment.

Our landscape process begins with a personal consultation. In this meeting, we will determine the kind of landscape that best fits your lifestyle. Next, we provide a design plan based on your tastes and budget. Once the design is completed, a bid is submitted to you. This bid clarifies price, provides a list of materials and labor needed, and details our job specifications.

Since 1993, we have gathered extensive resources for sustainable design while establishing a strong network of trades-people, builders, and fabricators who share our vision. We endeavor to combine our love of design and our desire to help others live life more beautifully with our strong commitment to the environment

We often explain to clients in our initial interview that we design the "skin" of buildings. Most frequently that is the exterior skin (landscape design, stone work, soil prep & plantings, lighting, etc.) though sometimes we work on projects that integrate the interior and exterior. In addition to custom landscapes, our scope of work often includes the selection of fixtures, furniture, and accessories.

Our office has an extensive library filled with samples of materials, and catalogs. After many of the major design decisions are made, we produce construction drawings, which include elevations and details, demo and site grading, irrigation & drainage plans, stone work, soil preparation and planting designs, and water feature and custom lighting plans.

We work on both renovations and new construction projects, and both commercial and residential buildings. Most often, we work as a team with architects and builders, and find that forming this team early on in the design process has a number of advantages for clients. Having a complete set of drawings with materials and fixtures selected before a project is bid helps the client to have a clear idea of what the project will cost. And finally, a complete set of drawings makes for a much smoother construction process, where materials are ordered in time and design issues are worked out in advance.

We are flexible, and work differently for different clients. Some of our clients are very involved in the design process and have a good idea of what they want. With these clients we act as facilitators, helping them to organize the design process, interact with their contractor and architect, and design a space that meets their vision. For other projects we have clients who are either very busy or not sure of what they want aesthetically and who have us to do everything, from selection of materials and construction drawings through the purchase of furnishings, to the installation and presentation of the completed project.
