Sharon McCormick Design, LLC is a full-service residential interior design firm, devoted to creating custom interiors for a discerning clientele. Sharon works closely with each client to create a design concept that is functionally pleasing and aesthetically unique. Interior architecture, color, furniture, window treatments, rugs, lighting, artwork and accessories - all visual aspects are considered to create a one-of-a-kind design experience.

Her goal is to translate her clients’ dreams into warm and gracious homes that are true reflections of their own personal tastes and styles. Sharon's strong sense of color brings her designs to life, and she loves to incorporate a client's prized possessions and favorite furnishings to give a home a sense of history.

Additions, renovations and new construction are a strong focus of Sharon's work. Her ability to work as a team with the architect and builder is very advantageous to the client. Rooms can be designed to flow seamlessly into one another, as requirements for any new pieces are specified. Careful planning before renovation or new construction begins helps to keep the project on schedule and within budget.

In 1999, following her true passion, Sharon left her successful career as a CPA for the world of interior design. Apprenticing with two interior design firms while pursuing her design education provided a solid foundation for founding her own firm. Sharon formed Sharon McCormick Design, LLC (formerly Fairchild House Interiors) upon graduating from Paier College of Art in 2002. Her firm has since grown to include the talents of Sara Nelson, junior designer, and Jen Gosselin, design assistant.

Sharon is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), for which she is a National Spokesperson. She has also completed the National Leadership program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Sharon McCormick Design, LLC is a member of the International Furnishings and Design Association and the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce. Sharon won the Outstanding Achievement in Design Award for her graduating class at Paier College of Art. She also has a B.A. in psychology from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Western New England College.

Sharon's work has been featured in many publications, including Country Sampler Decorating Ideas, Home Living Connecticut, Ridgefield Magazine, Fairfield County Homes, The Hartford Courant and The Baltimore Sun. Her work is featured in Spectacular Homes of New England, published by Panache Partners in May 2007. She is a member of the "Room for Improvement" design team for NBC Channel 7 News in Boston, MA.

She recently designed the "Elegant Glamour" powder room for the prestigious Junior League of Hartford Showhouse 2006. She designed the family room in the Kinderwood Designer Showhouse (2005), and participated in the Guilford Shoreline Foundation Showhouse (2002) and the YWCA Lyman Homestead Showhouse (2000).
