D&D Building

Known nationally and internationally as the world's most important home to over 120 showrooms, the D&D Building represents over 3,000 leading manufacturers dedicated to offering the very best in residential and business interior furnishings, educational opportunities and resource information. Products represented range from fabrics, wall coverings, traditional and contemporary furniture, carpets, lighting, antiques, art and accessories to one of kind custom items. The D&D Building has been providing designers with exclusive products for over 40 years. During calendar year 2005, the D&D Building hosted 345,000 designer visits.

The Decoration & Design Building is located in the midtown part of Manhattan on the east side of Third Avenue between 58th and 59th streets. The building is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Our pledge is to provide the ultimate experience for design professionals. Charlie Palmer's ASTRA continues to provide the perfect location for lunch and design meetings with panoramic views from the 14th floor. Also available to visitors is our designer lounge and library with wireless internet access.

Design Professionals is a design resource that provides the public with both a designer referral program and a consulting & buying program.

Designer Referral Program

Design Professionals' Designer Referral Program is a complimentary service that helps individuals to locate an interior designer who best suite their taste, project scope, and budget. Whether building a new home, planning a renovation, or redecorating a single room, Design Professionals will make the designer selection process easier. Our designers represent a broad range of styles and have been recognized by national trade associations and publications.

Consulting & Buying Program

Design Professionals provides a unique insider consulting & buying program that provides discriminating consumer who is not presently working with a designer the opportunity to purchase a limited number of items at the to-the-trade only prices plus a modest administrative fee. This service extends a coveted privilege to select from the variety of textiles and furnishings available only at the D&D Building.

The D&D Building is located at 979 Third Avenue between 58th street and 59th street on the east side of Third Avenue.

You can enter the building through three entrances: the Third Avenue entrance as well as an entrance on 59th street between 2nd and 3rd avenue. Additionally the D&D Annex is located at 222 East 59th Street. It is between 2nd and 3rd Avenue just past the Square Parking garage.

To get to the D&D via subway:
Lines 4, 5, and 6 stop one short block away at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue. The N and the R lines stop nearby, at the Lexington Avenue stop at 60th Street and Third Avenue.
