CERTIFICATIONS

The founder and principal designer John Borcherding,CR,CKD is a Certified Kitchen Designer and a Certified Remodelor.

The first step is for you to call to schedule an appointment in your home. Upon arrival, we will view your existing kitchen in relation to the surrounding rooms. In our design work, the kitchen is not treated as a separate entity. Therefore, the architectural detailing of your home, your home's design theme, and the use of color, texture, and scale will all be carefully observed by us and discussed with you so that a natural visual connection to the kitchen can be established.

Your wish list, design direction, and project requirements will be discussed in detail. We will measure the room (or architectural plans) and provide you with an estimate for your cabinetry, countertops, tile work flooring, fixtures and appliances. You will discuss these costs with us and formulate a general budget plan. To proceed to the next step, a design retainer is required. The retainer for a kitchen project ranges from $750 to $3,000
depending on the budget and overall complexity of the design, and will later be applied towards your cabinet purchase. Retainers for bathrooms, library, wet bar and den cabinetry are based on the size and scope of those particular projects.

The Design Process

As a new client of ours, the first phase of the design process requires your participation in a lively, interactive, "kitchen therapy" meeting. Using our 13-page survey form, inefficient
work habits are revealed, new ideas and solutions are presented and your detailed wish list is documented. We will then begin to design your kitchen.
Once you have chosen the floor plan that is right for you, you will select interior cabinet options, fine tune the theme of the kitchen, discuss decorative detailing, explore color, and select tile and countertops. We will take all the time necessary to fully develop your unique "look." We will then present you with working drawings that include but are not limited to a floor plan, elevation view and mechanical plans for your project. Perspective drawings can also be prepared with artistic hand drawn touches, to realistically, and beautifully, illustrate the kitchen from one main angle of view.

After we have finalized the plans, we will then present you with a complete cost for your cabinetry, which can include installation and complete remodeling services. Decorative details, which we feel would further enhance your design, will be presented and options to eliminate items, thus reducing costs, can also be presented per your request.

We look forward to the opportunity of working with you in creating a new and beautiful environment for you and your family.
