Hi All,
My name is Tony Dannucci. I'm in the business of Stone Care, Maintenance & Restoration. My mother and I have run NuTech Floor successfully since 1988. We are a small family run organization currently employing 3 in addition to ourselves. We are very proud to have a lead technician having been with us for the full 19 years and two other long term employees.
If you wish to learn more about us you may visit our website at
NuTech Floor Sealing & Restoration: Ventura County Stone Restoration & Sealing. It is part of our introduction to the 21st century. It's a work in progress and has just gone up and is intended as an end consumer introduction so be gentle. We work on many stone surfaces and also restore
grout. Probably a little more than half of the stone business is floors, counters, showers and other surfaces comprised of calcium carbonate stones. We don't do much with granites and fill in the rest with
grout cleaning and new installation sealing.
We've got a pretty good arsenal of machinery, but are limited to modified swing machines for
grinding floors, however we do use planetary machines for countertops. I must admit I love the planetary for the counters, but have never really had any trouble with using swing machines for
grinding /
honing. Many of our smaller machines are actually heavily converted and modified "others". I am unaware if other people in the industry do this, but back in the day I could never find the machinery I wanted and simply built it for the most part.
Training is something that has been naturally developed over the years by attending trade shows and dealing with manufacturer and product reps. The resources such as this forum nowadays is amazing to me. I know some of you will disagree, but I've used MB Stone products off and on over the past few years and have found Maurizio to be a wealth of information. He's chased me for his class for a long time and I finally decided to go in June, but he wasn't sure which facility it was to be in and now I've probably waited too long to accomodate the trip, guess I'll try again for next time.
As far as powders and diamonds and pads, I've honestly still never decided on a favorite. It seems they all have their forte and I keep lots of them around for that rainy day.
In any case I hope that I can provide some knowledge to this group in the future and hope that you'd do the same for me if the need should arise.
