We are a full service general contracting & development company able to provide quality service to our clients through our 33+ years of experience. Our company is located in Escondido with projects and operations countywide. Our extensive experience in project scheduling, management, cost control and custom work have provided our clients with maximum satisfaction and reward.

Our History:

Custom Builders of California was established in Escondido, California in 1997 by the joining of two seasoned veterans of the construction industry William Marshal (now retired) and Jeff Jester, currently active in the industry. With the dream of forming a quality, full service, Construction Company the two set out and quickly became industry leaders with their commitment to custom service and satisfaction.

Jeff Jester, President

Mr. Jester brings 33 years of experience to the company and his expertise is in scheduling, construction financing, management and real estate investing and development. A licensed general contractor himself, Mr. Jester spent over 12 years managing construction companies for some of Southern California’s largest developers in the position of Project Manager.

He is a licensed real estate agent and Senior Loan Officer and Branch Manager with Great Western Financial Group. In his portfolio of projects are multi-million dollar custom homes, small and large subdivisions, tract homes, additions, remodels, commercial shop buildings, tenant improvements, churches, restaurants, department of defense, municipal development and shopping centers.

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

Right from the beginning we help you to achieve your project goals. One of the first things we do is establish a realistic budget and time line for your project. We assist in the selection of consultants like Architects and Engineers. We will work closely with these consultants to make sure your project goals are achieved.

ARCHITECTURAL AND DRAFTING SERVICES

We provide referrals for several local affordable and talented architectural and engineering firms. All of which we have a good working relationship with which allows us to provide effective cost saving solutions, that get your project done. For the smaller project we have inhouse drafting services.

GENERAL CONSTRUCTION

Whatever you’re planning to build we provide service you can count on. If you have already selected an Architect and your plans are ready for pricing we offer a 2 week turn around time for most residential projects. Our prices are competitive with the market, but our quality is highest achievable. Our strong and committed subcontractor base assures that you will get the best in the industry for your project. We build custom homes, large and small subdivisions, commercial buildings, senior housing, churches, restaurants, and apartments just to mention a few. FINANCING

Need money? No problem! Most homeowners don't realize all the financing programs available to them. We work with so many lenders and finance companies that in most cases financing your project is no problem. Our customers save thousands in fees if we setup their loan.
