Talking Want to Avoid Bad Choice of Granite - Basement Bar

Hi All,

I'm new to natural stone applications and I am presently finishing a basement with a bar/kitchen area which will be finished with granite bartops/countertops. Because of lighting issues, I'm looking at lighter shades - specifically, Cashmere Gold, Shiva Gold and Madura (Madurai?) Gold.

Can anyone advise whether these granite types will present any problems versus other types of granite in this type of setting? This bar will have a beer tap, and acidic items like lemons/limes for drink prep will be present.

Thanks very much!!!

Bob

I haven't had any problems with these stones with acid etching like you would get from lemon/lime juice. Just be sure that the sealer is kept up to date on these stones to avoid wine/beer staining. They do tend to be a bit like a sponge being sandy textured stones.

Yes it's quite similar to that - I took some photos at the distribution warehouse but the file sizes exceed the site's limits.

Re: Want to Avoid Bad Choice of Granite - Basement Bar

All these stones are sandy type stones from India. They all fabricate very well.
