| | | | Notices | Hi Unregistered,
I am Josveek Huligar of Huligar Stone Restoration. It is my hope that a few good craftsmen and craftswomen will call this sanctuary a home.
I will try to make this place as appealing to you as possible.
We do have a few ground rules (without rules there can only be chaos).
1. Respect yourself and your trade.2.No trade bashing. But, by all means, please debate. It is through the debates that we get to the truth.
3. In your signature, you may not link to any other site. If you supplied your link in your profile, you may put that link under your avatar
4. Do not insult the guests.
5. Your participation is necessary in all polls. This is the only way we can get real feedback.6.You can post pictures of your work. Please, the only work we really care about is the work you do to stone, not on it (nothing inappropriate).
7. You will also be required to be active in this forum. I intend to rid the NSRA Trade area of the hacks and stone-voyeurs by mandating anyone who wants access to the trade lounge to register with their location and trade. If for any reason a person does not participate for duration of 60 days they will be banned from the lounge "No Beer for you". We have guys who are willing to share their knowledge and experience to the public for free. The least you can do is ask the questions. If trade lounge has just one other person, I would be happy if that one person was someone I could exchange ideas with and by doing so better myself. In that way, this site is more about show and tell.
8. The general public will not be allowed in the trade lounge. The trade lounge members are not allowed in the student lounge. The students will be able to view but not post in the general room. All questions for the trade are to be confined to the trade lounge or they would be redirected to the trade lounge. Anyone in the trade lounge can make a reply to the general room once they keep in mind that we are promoting natural stone as a serviceable product.
9. We are craftsmen and women, not politicians. So leave the politics out.
MIA, Marble Cleaning Net, NTC, sfa and ISI are all welcome here as long as they respect this forum. There is a room where all may place their ads and do their promotions for upcoming events, a calendar for trade shows, educational classes, and any other type of trade gathering. For all the salespeople, we even have a place for you. You can enter your product up for reviews and the good folks will grade your products. I must warn you. If your product is inferior, the whole world will know, quickly. No news travels faster than bad news. For all the homeowners, contractors, and designers we even have a place for you. The general room is where you can ask as many questions as you want. You may not get the answer you are looking for but you will get the right answer. If there is any way that we can make your visit more pleasurable, please let us know. | | Consumer Help Discuss, Verde Green Marble etching marks at Consumer & Non-registered Lounge forum; I have a Verde green kitchen counter top, when I first bought it, I tested for acidic solution such us ... |

| Verde Green Marble etching marks I have a Verde green kitchen counter top, when I first bought it, I tested for acidic solution such us coffee, orange juice spills etc. and did not notice any etching marks during the five years. now the counter top has develop scratches, and needed to be restore. I used a company in Florida to restore the counter top. now every time a place a cup with orange juice, or coffee and spills it leaves a etching mark.
Prior to the restoration of the stone it never happened.
What can be done to stop this from happening, what process needs to be done to avoid the staining or etching marks from taken place?
As far as i know there is no sealer that will stop the etching marks.
My understanding is that all Verde green marble stone are resistant or do not etch.
What remedy do you recommend? thank you. |

| Re: Verde Green Marble etching marks I do not want to sound like I am been funny, but you should get the stone restore correctly. It is my belief that an attempt was made to seal your stone with products that was not made for that type of stone. If sealer was left on the surface of your stone, this is what can make it seem like you are damaging the stone, or it can be a wax job. If you can up load an image or two of the damage area of the stone, we will be able to help you solve this problem.

Your going to have to remove the sealer that is causing the make believe etching. It did etch before and its not etching now. If the sealer was solvent based, you may be able to reactivate it by re-applying to remove the excess. If you have no luck with solvents then it may have to be removed mechanically. |

| Re: Verde Green Marble etching marks Verde Green (same word in two languages) or Verdi Alpi is not marble it is a serpentine. it is more resistant to etching than marble, but it will still etch with some liquids. when polished, this serpentine does not need to be sealed, it wont absorb anything. i am pretty sure they sealed it, improperly at that, and it is the sealer residue that is etching, not the stone. |

| Re: Verde Green Marble etching marks i only have one good pic cause the lighting in there was terrible. the slab is 4 full slab lengths. two down the center and one wrap around each side. i went from 50 grit, to flatten the seams, all the way to 3000 and then mb12. you can see in the picture where the two pieces meet there is a seam. its nearly invisible and cannot be felt. |
