Shower Restoration

Hi all~
I am in need of having my slate shower cleaned and sealed. Im in So Cal and would appreciate any help. What do you approx. the cost would be for a 5' x 8' shower?
Thanks for any help you can give me. I use to be an office mgr for a fabricator, but lost all my contacts :-(

Thanks again!

Re: Shower Restoration

where in So Cal? in in palm springs, we have another member on this site thats closer LA i think. it depends on the conditions, it can be anywhere from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars depending on the material, condition, soap scum, mold/mildew, grout/caulking repair. need more info. if you can post pictures we can definitely give you a better idea.

Re: Shower Restoration

Hi Cheesedog~
I'm in Huntington Beach. I just did a real fast clean of the shower yesterday to remove most of the soap scum and mildew. I use a product called Aldon, grout bright. I bought it online at the recommendation of a stone information site. The shower is only 2 years old and is a light green slate, think the name was china green. I'm really looking for a deep cleaning and a good seal. I use to work for a local fabricator for 7 years but have lost all my contacts. I used to refer a restoration company to our generals, but for the life of me I can't remember their company name. Wow, I didn't think it would cost that much!!! Maybe I'll just keep using my Aldon
I'll take some photos and post later on....Thanks for you help

Re: Shower Restoration

ive cleaned a shower and touched up a few spots for a couple hundred bucks, and i just submitted a quote to a client for 5k, so its hard to tell. chances are you have hard water and soap scum deposits, and it just needs a good soap scum remover and some elbow grease.

Re: Shower Restoration

if you want i have a contact with a stone restoration expert in the o.c. area if the shower is in good condition a color enhancing sealer is what i would put on. their is a really good one that we use and it wears like iron. we put this one on all of the slate we seal and our clients love it and the stone restorer i know in so cal uses the same product. let me know if you need his contact info.

Re: Shower Restoration

dgram,

please specify if the deep cleaning of shower means that there are any etch marks (dull spots). pictures are would be beneficial. if so, that would make a big difference on method of cleaning and prices.
