| Referral for granite seam repair needed... Hello everyone,
I had granite countertops installed a few months back. One of my seams in unlevel and the installer did some grinding on it to try to level it out. So now, around the seam the area is dull and not shiny at all. I called the installer back out, and they stated that it was possible they would damage the stone even worse if they tried to fix it (they refunded some of my install money since they couldn't fix it). They recommended for me to wax it, which I have done, but the wax wears off.
Does anyone know of anyone quality stone repair in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area? |

| Re: Referral for granite seam repair needed... I hate to hear stories like this. It gives our whole industry a bad name when some fabricators cannot take the time to learn the trade they are in.
Be sure to tell all your friends, neighbors, and relatives to not use these guys. It is their responsibility to do the job right in the first place and if they cannot they should hire someone who does know how to fix it right. Giving money off on a top is no way to solve a quality problem.
Always remember in the granite industry - wax is for hacks.
I hope we can find someone to help you. Good luck.

| Re: Referral for granite seam repair needed... Miller, what type of stone do you have?
I will see to it that Classicrascal can deal with this task.

| Re: Referral for granite seam repair needed... I was thinking the same thing. If I know the stone I can try to have some of it on hand for Rascal to practice on and be sure he can do it. Every stone is slightly different and many need a slightly different technique.

| Re: Referral for granite seam repair needed... Calibre is a good company to buy from, we test a lot of his diamonds.
If you feel the need to hide it from your guest, you can use the wax that you linked to as long as you understand that its is a temporary fix.
