Onyx tile damaged by vinegar

I was referred to this site by StoneBuddy, ClayCarson, joh, and others regarding my new bathroom. I posted (including pictures) originally on JohnBridge.com and received lots of helpful advice, which was greatly appreciated.

My problem: I installed green onyx tile in the shower and one wall above the tub and I think it's really beautiful. However, in cleaning up the grout, I used vinegar diluted in water to wipe off the excess grout and now the tiles are spotted and some have lost their original brilliant shine.

I would like to talk to an expert stone restorer in the Central Florida area (Orlando, Kissimmee, Altamonte, etc.) that could give me an estimate on restoring and sealing this tile. Please help!!

Thanks so much!

Re: Onyx tile damaged by vinegar

Ha..Ha..Ha!! Man I love it. You wiped it with what! I'm in W.P.B & I'm a restoration guy. Also, I just got done fabricating that brittle, ultra acid sensitive stuff. It's light green & on a close-up it looks like little bits of glass; right?

Teaching someone how to paint; doesn’t make them an artist.
