Need advice on terrazzo floor

Hi! I just bought a new house with Terrazzo floors in hallway and kitchen - about 500 sq. ft. They have probably been in the house for years - the owners lived there for forty years - only owners. I have no idea how to bring this floor back. It is in pretty good shape but looks like it is dirty and not at all shiny. The metal inserts are gold and then tarnished. I am big on professional help but don't want to mess this up. How do I find a contractor that knows what he/she is doing? I am in Seattle. This home was expensive and there are a lot of ways I can spend money. Should this be a priority? Is there anything I can do myself? Thanks!!!!!

Well, I do not know how to answer this question. If the floor still matches your new decor, than by all means have it re-polish. The tarnished inserts is more than likely brass. here is the contact information for one of the NSRA guys http://www.nsraweb.com/restoration-3...care-2805.html (Paragon Stone Care)
