kitchen counter tops

I had granite kitchen counter tops installed in November 2005. There is a lot of quartz in the stone. Even thought it is beautiful and shiny, there is a grittiness to the touch when your hand is run over it. I only use soap and water to clean it and I had someone come out from the yard to look at it.
He said that nothing was wrong with it, but when I asked him if he had ever seen this before, he said no. I can wipe it thoroughly dry and for a short period of time it feels smooth and then shortly later, it feels gritty again. Have you ever heard of this before.

If you would like to post a picture that would help.

I have seen this on New Venetian Gold before. Just about no matter what you do to the stone it will always feel like this. I usually try to sway my customers away from this stone because of this but sometimes what a customer wants is what they want. Unfortunately, you should have researched the granite more before your purchase.

Top Shop, we can only assume that the stone is Venetian Gold.
A picture would be nice.
This guess is not the same guest that posted the first question.
I hope this guess can appreciate the fact that we are not in the habit of dispensing advice with out the facts.
