i have lots of marble like for a countertop but they are all assorted sizes and shapes most smaller than 2?
smaller than 2 square feet and i was wondering if you had any ideas for things i could do with it? i though already of trivet, cutting board anything else?

I was going to suggest a mosaic, as well, but someone beat me to it You could also use them as stepping-stones in your yard or garden, either just as they are, or break them up if you can and inset them into concrete or plaster poured into a stepping-stone mold.
