Re: how to make it shine?

There comes a point in every do-it-yourselfer project that you need to realize you are over your head and you went way too far this time. A man's got to know his limitations.

topshop is right, at this point it would cost more to fix than you paid for those pcs, as a novice you won't
get the polish back. you may get close but it will look wavy and full of dimples, the best you can do if you don't want to replace it is to make peace with yourself and second coat those seams and hone the entire top, that type of finish is desired by many and you can still say "I did it myself"

good point tim, Have him do the whole top, color enhance so he gets back the color and it would be a nice hone that they can be proud of. Or he can spend the money to get it fix. hmmmm, I would go with the hone.

This is like getting a raw diamond and trying to cut it into a gemstone and mount it yourself. Sometimes doing it yourself isn't the right thing to do. Hire a pro to either replace this or fix it.

Re: how to make it shine?

I would create a unique honed finish and and color enhance with telling people it was done to tone the stones sheen down because you wanted a softer feel and appearance (an artist concept).

I am so full of s#$t and you can be too.

Cheesedog:

Is the leg of your avatar bitten off or is the dog just sitting down? I've been wondering about this for a while now.

Thanks,

Joe
