haze on golden musk granite

Is anyone familar with a haze appearing on golden musk granite? Is this one of the characteristics of the stone or is there a specific problem with mine? Can anyone advise a resolution? Finally, is this really 'granite' or is it another type of stone? thank you.

Re: haze on golden musk granite

It may be possible that you are using the wrong type of cleaner which is building up too much sealer or the wrong type of sealer was applied.

I have heard of this stone but have not worked with it to know of any inherit problems.

Is this your stone?

It would help us help you if you could upload an image of the questionable area of your stone.

Re: haze on golden musk granite

if it's resin filled , the epoxy may be clouding due to a solvent in a cleaner, like windex....

Re: haze on golden musk granite

Can you please advise if this 'residue' can be removed? Can the granite be buffed and re-sealed?
thank you.

Re: haze on golden musk granite

I don't think that you will be able to visualize the problem if I were to upload a picture. You actually need to look at the slab from such an angle that I don't think pitcture would capture the problem.
And yes, that is my stone. If this actually granite??
thanks.

Re: haze on golden musk granite

david crossman this is not a know resin slab. cleaners like windex will take a few years before a home owner can notice the damage. The amount of resin that is left in the stone is less that 1% 0f the stone. It may be possible, that some one polish the stone with wax, and the wax came in contact with a solvent.

Re: haze on golden musk granite

thank you for your help. Is 're-polishing' the same thing as 'buffing' the stone? Also, what is the appropriate 'sealer' to use with this specific stone? Is this stone more pourous than other granites?
