Looks to me like a flat out half-ass repair! Spend some time feathering in lower grits and polish correclty and you're the hero!! This is my favorite repair job of all---quick and easy and future repairs are locked in with customer! Show your skills or pass it off to me@!

If the customer went the cheap route in pre-fab they will not pay the bill.

its not prefab. the fabricator has agreed to replace the top.
