Here are some pictures - you can see that the stone to the left of the stove is darker than that on the right.

The one to the right could be enhance for a darker appearance but you run the slight risk of having the right side becoming darker than the left. I would suggest not l doing anything for 30 days, but if it still a concerned after than, do contact some one to enhance the stone for you. do not seal the stone until you content with the shade of both slabs.

Do you know if the stone is a resined slab? If it is resined it may darken on its own and you don't need to worry about staining. If it is not resined I would ager it now so you can get it sealed. This stone os usually a very porus stone which needs to be sealed.

topshop, that is why I ask them not to seal are do any thing for 30 days. in that time, they will use and clean the stone and it may just match up on its own.

I worked on this top this weekend. The old piece was surely a more brown stone compared to the new piece.

What I did was use ager to bring out the brown in the new piece. Then I sealed it for Brian. The result was a good match if you were about 5' from the top but you can still see a difference in stone structure when close to it. It looks much better than it did.

Hopefully Brian will post a new pic of the work.

Here is a picture after the ager was applied. It's much better - there is still a little difference though.
