If the metal of the pot was burning it must have been an aluminum pot. Aluminum and magnesuim will burn. Is it possible that some gases from the fire may have impregnated something into the stone? If that is the case maybe some rust remover will take it out. It may not be an easy thing to diplicate for experimentation.

I dont buy it....looks like monet or lapidus...that is what that stone looks like. Somebody is pulling your leg. As you guys know....I know a little bit about hot pots and granite.

think about it...how would and electric stove in the picture catch a pot on fire for gods sake.

Dude...I turned a cast iron pot red on a chunk of granite....nothing no change.
