Granite countertop is dull and seam is dropping

I recently purchased a house where the granite countertop next to the sink is very dull and where the seam in front of the gas cooking range has dropped by 1/4 inch. Here is a website where you can see pictures of both

Is there any way to repair this?

Thanks for any advice.

cazed, this not a big deal.
the surface can be re-polish.
the area over the dish washer will need to be rodded but that too is a pice of cake for a your local restoration company.
if you wish to give your location, i will look and see if we have a NSRA member in your area.

Looks like you cubboards have moved BACK an inch or so and the shimms holding up the slab at cooktop has been reloacted to the floor.

The area around the sink is repairable... not to fear. The fab shop DRY POLISHEd this area because they scratch. GURANDTEAD.

Like the boss, Huliger says, this can all be fiksed. And depending on you warrantie with the fab men, should it be covered.

If not cover do not fear. It shouldnt cost a leg or a finger to fix it RIGHT.

If you warrantie is expaired, call around to differant shops for priceing.

Remember... you get what you pay for it.

First things first - have the cabinet fixed which holds up the granite in front of the cooktop. You need to be sure the cabinets supporting your stone are solid of it will pop apart again. The rest is fixable by a good stone restoration guy.

Thanks for the replys

I live in New City, NY 10956. Are there any NSRA members in the area? I'd love to have a professional take care of this and look into a service contract to keep the granite looking good.

As for warranties, I'm not sure who put in the countertop since it was installed prior to me buying the house, and I'm not in contact with the previous owners.

Thanks again for the help / advice.javascript:emoticon('')

stop by

It would be great if you could come by on the 22nd. Do you know what time? How much do you think the repair would cost? By the way, 10504 is Armonk. That is in Westchester and I am in Rockland. Is that a problem for you?
