flamed granite floor

I cleaned a dark flamed granite floor with a mild acid stone cleaner and also Stone Tech
oil stain remover. After the floor dried it looked washed out. Is there anything we can do other than color enhancer? I tried enhancer on a extra piece of stone and it would be
too dark for the client. Any ideas would be a real help.

Re: flamed granite floor

You can use a brush that can close the pores and make the stone dark than it is.
This is as much information that we can post in the consumer area of the forum.

The washed out look could be alkalinity from the the oil stain remover. Try cleaning a small amount of the surface with distilled white vinegar in a little water. It's a long shot but easy to try.

Re: flamed granite floor

Mark,
After the removal of the stain remover(which is a pain in the a__) the area that had the
poultice was darker when wet. But when it dried it was the same color as the rest of the
floor. Also, when I was sealing the stone the poultice areas were darker until dry.
What happening with the dark spots?

Re: flamed granite floor

based on your description of it getting darker when wet I would say the poultice worked. It removed the stain and also made the stone more porous, so it is absorbing more moisture and looks darker than the rest of the floor.
Now that it is sealed it looks good? If so, aren't you finished?

Re: flamed granite floor

Mark,

I sealed the flamed granite with Stone Pro Ultimate sealer and after it dried it looked great.
The granite was in the kit. with 28 stains. It was good paying job.
Now on to cleaning filthy quartzite stone in a kit. It seems i can't get out of the kit.
