Crack in granite need repair ideas

We are selling our house and on inspection the buyers noticed a crack in our granite countertop. The crack is about 7-10" in length and T's into a 5" seam. The seam is located directly infront of our kitchen sink (seems like a crazy place for a seam but we did not build the house!). The counters (and house) are 4 years old. The realtors and buyers all seem a little puzzled on how to proceed. As the seller, I am interested in completing our inspection process and determining an approximate and reasonable amount that a buyer would be entitled to in order to repair the granite.

My questions are as follows:
1. Who do I contact to repair a crack in the granite?
2. Are these types of cracks generally repairable?
3. Is there a way to provide a ball park estimate in order to repair such a crack?

I agree - a picture is needed or call one of the guys in your area. I am sure something can be done to minimize or even possibly make it dissapear but without seeing it nobody can tell you for sure.

I would recommend getting a professional in who can have a look and advise once they have seen the repair. If it is cosmetic and historic then the granite repair kit from Heinrich-koenig should be used by the technician.

O.K We do not need your fancy overpriced kit to do any repair.

It is true that most of us can make the repair with out a fancy kit, but it is good to know that a kit is out there for the new comers.

O.K. any restoration guy worth his weight and with the skill and experience to do a job like this does not need the kit. If you need the kit you should not be attempting a job like this. Take a class and practice instead of wasting your money.

Here are the photos. As you see the crack is the widest where it T's into the seam. A faint trail of the crack can be seen as far back as 12". Any suggestions welcome. Again we are just trying to get a ball park number so that we can complete the buyers inspection process. Thanks.

Wow, that look like they try to rod that peace.
If that the case, you need a well train restoration guy to make that repair. The rod will need to be enclose to stop it from rusting. as for making the repair less noticeable, this one is a peace of cake. What is up with that seam? If you have not paid the the fab guy as of yet, please hold the payment, this guy is a hack.

Thanks so much for the optimism that this can be repaired. Any idea what this kind of repair runs? Also, if necessary, can granite be cut and a "farm house" sink be installed. Again, we are trying to come up with as many cost effective options to propose to the buyer of the house. Thanks again.
