| Solving a countertop dispute (Orlando Sentinel) I have unresolved issues with granite countertops installed in our home by Stone Giant: scratches, chips, uneven caulking, sloppy seams in the granite. One piece of granite was badly scratched and Stone Giant polished over it, turning the black stone white. I'm not going to pay $59 per square foot for granite that turned white.
Another piece was chipped and filled with a gray color. Two pieces may need to be replaced, and another piece may need to be cut differently, but the company says it does not plan to replace anything. I gave Stone Giant a punch list of nine items on Dec. 21, but the company sent the wrong person and nothing was fixed. He apologized and said the correct person would come out on a Saturday to accommodate my schedule since I already took two days off from work.
The owner later disagreed and refused to do the repairs on a Saturday. He wants me to keep taking weekdays off from work so the company can finish the job. |
