Coloring

When you are going to color your fill do you do it on the side till you get the color you want, than mix it in or after

When working on granite, I mix on the side. Once I have the color I want I use 1/100 of the color to mix in with my adhesive.

What are you using to color? I've been using acrylic pastes from a local art supply store with moderate success.
