Cleaning and sealing Travertine

What is the best method to clean polished travertine and sanded grout?

Some people think that sanded grout and stone is a bad idea. I do not see the big deal with sand or non-sand grout.

the best way to clean your stone is with a mile stone soap.

Doesn't the sand get under the floor machine's disc's/pads whatever & cause scratching? Travertine is pretty hard, so it might resist scratching....I guess.
