| Re: Black Marcqino on cladding I have used this a few times to get remove wax and the ENRICH'N'SEAL Quote: AQUA MIX SEALER & COATING REMOVER is a non-flammable, multi-purpose stripper formulated to stay wet longer which gives the product time to remove most sealers, epoxy grout haze, urethane coatings, synthetic finishes, adhesives, and paints. Also dissolves deep-set stains and removes heavy grease buildup.
Uses
Use on natural stone (such as granite, limestone, marble, slate, and travertine), ceramic, porcelain, grout, quarry, saltillo, terra cotta, cement pavers, and masonry surfaces.
READ ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE USING STRIPPING:
1.) Read entire label before using.
2.) SHAKE WELL before using.
3.) Sweep or vacuum surface.
4.) Apply a liberal amount of Sealer & Coating Remover to a small manageable area of up to 25 sq. ft. (2 m²).
5.) Spread with a mop, sponge, or brush.
6.) Allow product to dwell up to 1 hour without drying or until coating or residue softens. Do not allow Sealer & Coating Remover to dry on surface – if Remover starts to dry, add more to ensure surface is kept wet.
6.) Agitate with a scrub brush or scrub machine.
7.) Wipe up residue with clean, absorbent white cotton towels or sponge. A wet-dry vac may be used.
8.) Removal of thick coatings or residue may require several applications – repeat steps 3 through 7 if coating is still on surface.
9.) Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
10.) Ready for surface traffic in 1 hour or after fumes have dissipated. Allow at least 24-hour drying time before applying AQUA MIX sealers and floor finishes. EPOXY GROUT HAZE REMOVAL:
1.) Read entire label before using.
2.) SHAKE WELL before using.
3.) Apply a minimal amount of Sealer & Coating Remover (just enough to make the surface damp) to a small manageable area of up to 25 sq. ft. (2 m²).
4.) Spread with a mop, sponge, or brush.
5.) Lightly agitate surface with a scrub brush until haze is removed. For large commercial installations, a white pad may be used with a scrub machine.
6.) Mop up dirty solution.
7.) Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
8.) Ready for surface traffic in 1 hour or after fumes have dissipated. Allow at least 24-hour drying time before applying AQUA MIX sealers and floor finishes.
| When you are finish removing the wax, you may want to try the ENRICH'N'SEAL in a ssmall area to see if you get the look you want. If the ENRICH'N'SEAL works you can save your arms and cut down in cost and time. Quote: AQUA MIX ENRICH'N'SEALTM is a premium, no-sheen, enhanced-look penetrating sealer formulated to darken, enrich and highlight the character and beauty of unsealed natural stone. It rejuvenates the color and improves the appearance of worn and weathered stone. May also be used as a pre-grouting sealer. Allows moisture-vapor transmission. It also effectively seals and darkens the color of grout joints.
Uses
Use on unsealed natural stone such as marble, granite, slate, limestone, travertine, quartzite and sandstone. Effective for interior and exterior applications. Coverage
Approximately 500 to 1,500 sq. ft (46 m² to 139 m²) per coat per gallon (3.785), depending on type of stone, porosity and texture of surface, temperature, humidity, and method of application. READ ENTIRE LABEL BEFORE USING
1.) Read entire label before using.
2.) For new installations, sealer can be applied as soon as 48 hours after grouting.
3.) Surface must be clean, dry and free of existing sealers or coatings.
4.) Apply using a sponge, brush, paint pad, cotton towel or sprayer. NOTE: Be sure any sealer that does not penetrate surface is polished dry off surface within 5 minutes of application using absorbent paper or cotton towels.
5.) If 2 or more coats are applied, allow a minimum of 30 minutes dryng time between coats.
6.) Ready for surface traffic in 12 hours after final coat. Keep dry for 12 hours. Achieves full cure in 48 hours. Some highly porous surfaces may require an additional coat after full cure.
7.) Clean applicator tools with mineral spirits after each use.
| | | | | | Marble | MARBLE: CHARACTERISTICS
This standard includes general information on the characteristics
and common uses of marble and identifies typical problems
associated with the material.
INTRODUCTION
Marble is an extremely hard, metamorphic stone composed of calcite
(CaCO3). It is formed as a result of the recrystallization of
limestone under the intense pressure and heat of geologic
processes. The effect of this process is the creation of a stone
with a very tight crystalline structure and small but definite
porosity. Because of its structure, marble can take a very high
polish and is a very popular decorative stone for architectural and
sculptural uses. The limited porosity of marble, especially
polished marble, makes it less vulnerable to the leaching effects
of water. Calcium carbonate, however, of which marble is composed,
is highly susceptible to attack by acidic agents. Marble is
readily dissolved by acids, even very dilute acids, however the
actual results of acidic exposure will vary with the nature of the
acid. Chlorides, nitrates, sulfates and other chemical compounds
react differently with marble and produce various by-products,
which have a wide range of solubility and impact on the durability
of marble. For this reason, it is always important to determine
the exact type of pollutants causing marble deterioration.
Marble itself can be of two types, one composed of calcite and the
other of dolomite. Dolomitic marble is much more resistant to acid
attack than calcite marble. The color of marble ranges from the
brilliant white of calcite to black, including blue-gray, red,
yellow and green, depending upon the mineral composition.
TYPICAL USES
Marble has many decorative and structural uses. It is used for
outdoor sculpture as well as for sculpture bases; in architecture
it is used in exterior walls and veneers, flooring, decorative
features, stairways and walkways. The way in which the stone is
used may be a factor in limiting or controlling the severity of
exposure. The use or function of the marble may also affect the
feasibility of applying certain treatments, but type of use is not
the primary factor in the major types of deterioration and damage
to which marble is susceptible. | | | | | |

| Re: Black Marcqino on cladding Mix your stripper with diatomaceous earth and apply it to the wall. The earth will prevent it from evaporating or running down when you need the stripper to act on the wax. When you remove it use a blade and sponge with plenty of water to neutralize the alkalinity in the stripper. Then polish right away.
If you know you are going to have to refinish the wall anyways, you can remove most coating with diamonds anyways (most coatings).
Good Luck |
