You are on the right track. I think all I am looking at here is the damage done to the sealer that remained on the surface. I would go with a tinner sealer that would penetrate the stone better and than remove any traces from the surface.

Test Akemi 2012. it's thin tri-chloro-ethylene based and a decent color enhancer and sealer. Not sure how long it lasts. But enhancing this floor might cause more problems down the road.

Hone Black granite can look bad if it's over mopped and flooded with water all the time. The minerals will give it a whitewashed look and it will just get worse. I like the charcoal gray look of hone black granite, you might want to think about a natural look impregnator. I don't see a lot of enhancer under the carpet. It just looks clean.

When your done tell them to mop much less with a microfiber mop and dry the floor so your job stays looking good.

Re: Black Granite Flamed and Honed

This stone reminds me of a job a colleague and I performed in Kitchener at a "program house" with SERIOUS problems with the material.

This looks to be a stone that has been dyed and/or doctored and the coloring has leached out... That and a touch of efflorescence to add to the challenge.

I would suggest a thorough cleaning (not much can be done with the efflorescence) and go with a few good applications of color-enhancer and you should be good.

DO NOT USE MIRA-MATTTE. That junk is the Devil! (IMHO)

Is "eff ex" a trade name? as in FX Hollywood movie-making "effects"?

Or are we talking something totally different that I am unaware of?
