I am Josveek Huligar of Huligar Stone Restoration. It is my hope that a few good craftsmen and craftswomen will call this sanctuary a home.
I will try to make this place as appealing to you as possible.
We do have a few ground rules (without rules there can only be chaos).
1. Respect yourself and your trade.2.No trade bashing. But, by all means, please debate. It is through the debates that we get to the truth.
3. In your signature, you may not link to any other site. If you supplied your link in your profile, you may put that link under your avatar
4. Do not insult the guests.
5. Your participation is necessary in all polls. This is the only way we can get real feedback.6.You can post pictures of your work. Please, the only work we really care about is the work you do to stone, not on it (nothing inappropriate).
7. You will also be required to be active in this forum. I intend to rid the NSRA Trade area of the hacks and stone-voyeurs by mandating anyone who wants access to the trade lounge to register with their location and trade. If for any reason a person does not participate for duration of 60 days they will be banned from the lounge "No Beer for you". We have guys who are willing to share their knowledge and experience to the public for free. The least you can do is ask the questions. If trade lounge has just one other person, I would be happy if that one person was someone I could exchange ideas with and by doing so better myself. In that way, this site is more about show and tell.
8. The general public will not be allowed in the trade lounge. The trade lounge members are not allowed in the student lounge. The students will be able to view but not post in the general room. All questions for the trade are to be confined to the trade lounge or they would be redirected to the trade lounge. Anyone in the trade lounge can make a reply to the general room once they keep in mind that we are promoting natural stone as a serviceable product.
9. We are craftsmen and women, not politicians. So leave the politics out.
MIA, Marble Cleaning Net, NTC, sfa and ISI are all welcome here as long as they respect this forum. There is a room where all may place their ads and do their promotions for upcoming events, a calendar for trade shows, educational classes, and any other type of trade gathering. For all the salespeople, we even have a place for you. You can enter your product up for reviews and the good folks will grade your products. I must warn you. If your product is inferior, the whole world will know, quickly. No news travels faster than bad news. For all the homeowners, contractors, and designers we even have a place for you. The general room is where you can ask as many questions as you want. You may not get the answer you are looking for but you will get the right answer. If there is any way that we can make your visit more pleasurable, please let us know. | | Articles Discuss, Innovation, not imitation... at Consumer & Non-registered Lounge forum; ... | Innovation, not imitation...

"Innovation, not imitation..."
A revolutionary new concept for counter tops from real modular granite slabs.
Ideal for new residential apartments and homes or refurbishing existing kitchens. Our granite is a little more than the cost of laminate and can be installed over existing laminated tops.
Throughout our many years experience in the international stone industry we have seen many different man-made products come and go from the marketplace, all trying to take advantage of the perceived expensiveness of natural stone.
Some of these products last a little while, some last longer, but in the end it has forced the natural stone industry as a whole to become much more efficient than it was in the past. This is obviously a good thing for consumers who are looking to add the touch of beauty and elegance that real granite can bring to their home, but here at RGT we went a little further...
We set about designing a system of delivering beautiful, high quality benchtops to the marketplace at a price never before imaginable. We looked at the different cost centres in the traditional granite benchtop manufacturing process, isolated the areas of greatest inefficiency and set about developing a system that modified or even did away with the expensive parts of the process.
The end result is our MODULAR GRANITE SYSTEM, or what we like to call our "Revolution In Stone".
In the past, we would import our stone from around the world in large slabs of roughly 3m x 2.4m in size and anywhere up to 40mm in thickness. Your kitchen benches would be cut from these slabs in a factory after a template was made of your kitchen.
Considering shipping costs are based on weight and size, you can imagine what it costs to import all that stone, and then when you consider that sometimes a substantial amount of stone out of the slab would not even be used for your bench and is simply thrown away, you can easily see how the expense builds up.
Then there is the installation - and with granite slabs of this size a truck is needed to transport it and at least 2 or 3 labourers to lift it (that is assuming the bench can even be manouvered easily through your house to the kitchen!). All this usually took place some time after you initially pulled your old kitchen apart. Depending on how busy the stonemason was - you could sometimes be waiting up to 2 months for the job to be finished.
Well all that has changed. Our Modular Granite System
consists of prefabricated slabs which are all 1.2m long and are either 610mm wide or 900mm wide.
These slabs are all pre-polished and prepared for installation.
Our slabs are 15mm thick, meaning you save money straight away on the shipping part of the cost due to the reduced weight and size.
We do not take templates of your kitchen, all work is done on-site by our installers, therefore there is no waiting around with a non-useable kitchen for weeks while your benchtop is manufactured off site.
Plus you can be assured that your granite bench will fit perfectly......
When renovating an existing kitchen we do not remove your existing benchtop. Assuming it is in good structural condition, we simply attach your new Real Granite Top directly to your old benchtop. We then run a matching 35mm wide granite apron around the edges of the bench, leaving you with the appearance of a granite bench that is 50mm thick!!!
Some granite manufacturers are now using 20mm stone in an effort to reduce freight charges and reduce working time, but they do not place a substrate underneath. This leaves a thin looking benchtop and in our opinion is not as strong as our modular system. We also believe a bench that looks almost 50mm thick looks far more impressive (and expensive!) than one that is only 20mm in thickness. Take a look at some of our photo's in the GALLERY and we think you'll agree.
The benefits to our customers are many - you get a beautiful new bench which will add value to your home, be extremely strong and hardwearing, look impressive, be installed quickly with minimal disruption to your normal family life and most of all - you'll save a fortune!!!
Real Granite Tops can also be used on new kitchens as well. In fact we are the preferred stone supplier to some of Australia's leading home builders and often work closely with cabinetmakers to provide a complete kitchen solution for their customers.
Our system is now being used extensively throughout Europe through our business partners there, and is quickly becoming the product of choice here in Australia as well.
Our Modular Granite System does incorporate the use of a few more joins than you would otherwise have (depending on your kitchen design), but these joins are minimal, and given that they are a vital part of our modular system, our installers are well practiced in making these joins as unnoticeable as possible. All kitchens generally will have to incorporate joins somewhere, no matter what material you select for your benchtops, and they are generally a given part of any kitchen installation.
Best of all..... our modular system will save you a fortune!!!
