Sanctuary Builder is a custom home builder established in 1999 by John Falcione and Karl Tunberg. Both Falcione and Tunberg have been in the building and development business for 28 plus years. They have been responsible for and directly involved in selling, building, marketing and developing many communities, neighborhoods and homes in Arizona.

Falcione founded and managed his own home building company for over 12 years in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before coming to Arizona in 1991. Falcione worked for several large homebuilders both land development and construction prior to co-founding Sanctuary Builder.

Tunberg, originally from Santa Barbara, received a B.S. in Real Estate from ASU and studied for his MBA at UOP. He started developing land in the 1984 in North Eastern Arizona. Additionally he did site selection and retail commercial leasing. Tunberg began his career in new construction in 1987. Since then he has worked for several homebuilders and development companies in sales, marketing and management prior to co-founding Sanctuary Builder.

Both Falcione and Tunberg are committed to giving buyers a great custom home building experience by being available, involved and flexible with each situation. “If it makes sense from a life style perspective and it is something that our buyers really want, we’ll do it,” said Falcione when describing his philosophy on working with buyers. “We like to think about the kind of place our families would want to live in and create a sense of community and togetherness that fits those parameters.” Customer involvement and satisfaction are two very important philosophies when building a new custom home. “I want to make sure that there are open lines of communication, a good exchange of ideas and fairness throughout the process,” said Tunberg. “Our commitment to our buyers, employees, vendors and the community is to work hard, treat everyone fairly and honestly. We need all of these people to complete our mission. Our success is directly tied to how well we treat each person.”

From land development to creating neighborhoods to building custom homes, we want to create your Sanctuary in a neighborhood that will be exceptional and remembered as home.
