The chip in the surface will have to be filled with a glue such as tenax or general.
I would recomend to contact your local stonemason to do this as it can become a bit of a trick to get the glue flush with the face. If not to do it you will need:
tenax or general clear and bianco glue
some coloured oxides
tenax or general hardener
rag
flat block of some sort
spatula and mixing board.
1. mix your colour to match the stone by taking some clear tenax and mixing in oxides to match colour, by crushing the oxides in the glue then mixing in.
2. clean chip out with acetone or thinners.
3. mix a 3rd proportion of the hardener in with your glue and apply to chip genorously.
4. take your rag soak in acetone and place over your smoother surface of you block.
when glue starts to go hard (approx. 1-2 minutes) start lightly rubbing your rag and block over the glue until it is smooth and fluh with the rest f the stone..
if done correctly you should have a mostly unnoticable what was a chip...
