Talking Granite : Cleopatra Granite

We installed Cleopatra Granite in our kitchen about 1 year ago. We have found it to be very absorbent. Water glasses leave a dark ring but then go away over time. The granite hasn't stained but it is getting darker where I frequently cook. I did the lemon test on a scrap piece and it got dark right away. It did not however get dull. I'm hoping someone can tell me what to do to prevent it from discoloring. Can anyone tell me about this granite? I'm afraid this is one of those stones you would never put in a kitchen. Please help. Jennifer
