| Training Class Debate After attending a few stone classes, I found myself feeling short changed, as if the classes were for people who had never worked in the field. I also felt that some of the information was useless and incorrect, lacking the critical student participation and that the instructors had just read a book in the back room on the tools and that now they were ready to teach the world!
The class also targeted people that were not in the trade and it seemed like there were more carpet cleaners than anyone else. Most of the people that were there were left with a bad taste or confused, while others were just happy to purchase the tools and products that should never be put in the hands of a new restorer.
This is my question, what do you expect from a training class? Have you ever gone to a class and spend your $350 and up and still felt short change? If you could build your own class what would be on your list? What would be off your list? There is no need to say the name of the class that you took. |
