Re: How To Survive the Stone Industry Recession

Hi Fred, I would like to get one DVD for my ASN East office - and to market the NSRA to local fabricators that really need a helping hand... and I am thinking of advertising somewhere-somehow on your site. I am wondering what kind of results people get - and if any stone suppliers advertise.

It isn't that easy for me to navigate the site as everytime I scroll it reloads line by line and takes a long time to get around. any ideas for the less than computer expert (me)?

also I am trying to teach some of my fabricators how to bid - as I did that for 15 years - but most of the people around here 'square foot' bid vs. a cost for every action. so half the time they don't know if they are too high or too low, when they can sharpen their pencil and when they can't, etc. and they often freak out when a customer they bid Sta.Cecilia to chooses Blue Pearl instead because they don't even have a material line item.

it is too personal when I show them the formula's I used to use and I often end up arguing with them - I'm just trying to share with them a bit of what I've learned to help them with their business. Fred I've got a stubborn Western Mass. crowd!! not open minded like the Northern CA people I cut my teeth with. So I wonder what training in bidding I may be able to refer them to!??! thanks alex
