Dog I have seen and done many jobs with epoxy grout that have been very successful, and I know a few installers that would take your statement as a insult. As always, if you go for the lowest bidder you will get the hacks. Epoxy grout is the best thing to use in a wet area, it is the most resistant to moisture, it is easy to clean, you do not have to worry about mold in your joints, you do not have to worry about the color changing and looking dingy. IMO using epoxy grout will save you money and time that is associated with typical non-sanded/sanded grout.
