Re: Help with Limestone and Slate Restoration

Huligar thanks for coming by today. It is true, he did refuse to do any of the work, except for removing a rust stain from the limestone wall, which he did miraculously easily. We went to a job site with the intentions of sealing, or showing me how to properly seal, two bathrooms. It turns out that one bathroom had installation issues in the shower, and the other bathroom had wet spots all over the place. Huiligar told me that the wet spots are likely due to the thinset dabs behind the tile, but they should dry out. The shower, according to huligar, is a disaster waiting to happen....bad pitch and possible water penetrating the grout joints. There was a dark, seemingly wet, 2" border at the base, which appeared after the shower was exposed to excess water when the tiles were cleaned.

Needless to say, the owner was not to happy when I told him why the bathrooms were not sealed. In any case, Huligar thinks I am crazy for dragging him out here to fix my limestone walls (see pictures at top). He left me a bottle of stone cleaner and a rag and went to watch cartoons. I'll let you know how the entire situation pans out.
